Commented Issue: Trouble installing [66]

Tried numerous versions of the .msi file; none worked.

Error code: 1001.

InstallUtilLib.dll: Unknown Error.

Arduino version installed is 1.0.3. OS is MS Windows 8 Pro x64, Visual Studio 2012 Premium from Dreamspark.

Comments: Answering my own question here: If you have Windows 8, install the .NET 3.5 components via Control Panel->Programs and Features->Add Windows Features.
